The researchers also put some other se x myths to rest.
There is a broad range of normal when it comes to the how long the average sex session must last, but scientists have decided to provide an average length of time for what can be considered 'good se x' or as they put it "what exactly is the mean intravaginal ejaculation latency time?"
They asked 500 couples from around the world to keep track of their steamy encounters over the course of four weeks.
To
make sure they weren’t going to lie and over-exaggerate the results,
the lovers had to use a stopwatch, starting the countdown at the moment
of penile penetration and stopping at eja culation.
And they found that there was a massive difference in how long the se x sessions lasted – ranging from 33 seconds to 44 minutes.
While there’s clearly not one normal duration, the average time for se x was 5.4 minutes.
Putting a couple of popular myths to bed, the researchers said that using a condom didn’t affect staying power and nor did being circumcised.
Another finding revealed – the older the couple, the shorter the sex session.
