When it comes to “that time of the month”, some women are blessed to have an easy duration, however, many go through a really difficult time.

If you are among those women who are dealing with agonizing durations, there are some things you mustn’t do.

1. Skipping Meals
Skipping a meal at this time of the month is a very bad idea. Basically, during this period, you are losing a great deal of blood, so you have to eat properly to keep your energy levels up.
2. Having Unprotected Sex
It is highly recommended not to have a sexual intercourse while you’re on your period. Nevertheless, if you choose to do it anyhow, make sure you use protection in order to avoid infections.
3. Physical Work
Whenever you experience stomach pain or pain in the back, make sure to avoid any manual labor. By doing this, you will avoid additional issues and more discomfort.
4. Eat Junk Food

You can eat more than usual (which is normal), however, you should make sure it’s not processed food. Moreover, eating junk food in the middle of the night may seem like a good idea, however your stomach might disagree with you and cause more pain.
5. Work
This might sound difficult for most women, but if you can stay at home for a couple of days while you’re on your period, that would be a great idea.
6. Up All Night
Going to bed early while you’re on your period is extremely important for your health. By doing this, you will also pass your period with fewer problems. Moreover, your body produces a hormone called melatonin in the early hours of the night. This hormone plays an important role in various segments of our health. Interrupting the production of melatonin can cause severe unfavorable consequences.
More tips:
Avoid drinking soda.
Avoid drinking icy cold water (there is a great possibility that menstrual blood might remain in the uterine wall.)
Avoid eating cucumbers (some of the compounds found in cucumber can also cause some of the menstrual blood to remain in the uterine wall.)
Avoid salty and sour foods containing high amounts of sodium: pickle, canned food, chips, snacks, salted popcorn.
Avoid foods containing Caffeine: chocolate, caffeinated soda, tea and coffee.
